danielo wants to clear up something about Cynicism
Wednesday, July 16, 2008I'm a Cynic. That's Cynic, not "cynic." A Cynic is not (necessarily) bitter, jaded, pessimistic, or negative. A Cynic believes that life should be lived with virtue by being in balance with nature and avoiding the trappings of wealth, power, fame, and material possessions. Cynicism is, in my estimation, similar to Buddhism for its admonition to avoid material possession and the ethical trappings of civilization.
